About forty-five minuets down the road we came to Manistique, MI. This is the Manistique East Breakwater Light. The steel structure was built in 1916 and is on a concrete base.
By the time we got here it was time for lunch, and luckily, right across the street, was a Big Boy restaurant. We used to eat at these all the time when I was younger, but they closed a long time ago. That being said, there is one in just about every town we drove through in Michigan. We stopped for a bite to eat and continued west across the Upper Peninsula to Marquette.
