Q. What was the name of your first band?
A. Oh for the love of God, not this question. True story, it was named "Shrapnel". Pretty hard core, right? I played guitar then. It was a high school band that I started with a good friend of mine. We played about three shows and and wrote maybe 10 songs. Next question.
Q. What was the first song, original or cover, that band was really good at playing?
A. We did write almost all originals. The one cover song we did was by Staind and the song was MudShuvel. (Laughs) I'm not too sure if we performed it really well though, not a great song choice.
Q. Most interviews ask what one of your songs means, however this question flips it. What does one of your favorite songs means to you?
A. As far as my band Drugs Delaney goes, Andrew William Smith does 90% of the song writing and all of the lyrics. He brings it in and we mold it all together to make it a Drugs song. My favorite song by us is one that we're currently writing and recording, so I can't divulge too much but what that song means to me lyrically and why it's my favorite is because it just hits me "time-line wise" in my life hard and where I'm at age wise and that time is always ticking and there isn't a moment to waste in this voyage called "life." It's not the true meaning of the words or why he wrote them but that's just how it hits me and that's what is cool about music, people interpret it in so many different ways.
Q. What’s one of your favorite lyrics from a song?
A. "I looked out this morning and the sun was gone, I turned on some music to start my day, I lost myself in a familiar song, I closed my eyes and slipped away"...nuff' said! Name that band.
Q. What’s one of your favorite quotes from a movie?
A. "I ain't got time to bleed." Predator
