The Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse was literally right across the street from our hotel. We got up for day three of our trip, went downstairs, got a bite to eat from the continental breakfast, and headed across the street.
As you can see in the picture, it was a cold and foggy morning. I really love the Mackinac Bridge in the background of this shot. It is one of my favorites from the trip. Nestled on the Straits of Mackinac, this 50' tower was built in 1892. We only spent fifteen or twenty minutes at this particular lighthouse. I set up and took some pictures of the bridge as well as the surrounding grounds.
We had one more lighthouse to visit before we crossed the bridge to "The Upper Peninsula". It was only a short drive, and it was worth it. McGulpin Point, here we come.
