Day four started with a short drive over to Bayfield, WI. to the Apostle Islands. We had reserved a couple seats on the island tour cruise. We got there plenty early so we ate breakfast at a nostalgic restaurant called Greunke's Inn. The food and service were both good. The dining room was filled with pop culture pictures and items.
We headed down to the docks to get in line for the cruise and it was packed. I was worried about being able to sit on the upper deck for pictures. Turns out most of the people were older and thought it was a little chilly to be outside on the water, so that was not a problem. There was plenty to see on the 3 1/2 hour tour. It was beautiful. The Islands and all the stories that went along with them were great.
About two hours into the trip we came to Devil's Island. Talk about a secluded place. This one was way out there. I can't imagine what it must have been like out there alone during a winter storm on Lake Superior. Top five of all the lighthouses on our trip.
