Today we have what will be another repeating subject on this blog, Union Stations. Along with Lincoln Statues, I have driven to, and taken pictures of, many Union Stations.
I was in Chicago for a Cubs game. I am a Cardinals fan, but had never been to Wrigley Field. I had the opportunity to go to a game with some friends and took it. The stadium lived up to the hype and I'm glad I went. I didn't take my camera with me because I wanted to enjoy the game, hang out with some friends, and take in Wrigley Field, without worrying about getting pictures. I will go back with a camera sometime I'm sure.
When I travel, I tend to wake up early and go shoot pictures while everyone else sleeps in. So, I got up around 5 a.m. and walked around downtown Chicago for a few hours. I started just north of Millennium Park at our hotel, and walked all the way down to Union Station.
The reason I went to Union Station was to get a picture of the steps from the famous scene in The Untouchables, one of my favorite movies for sure. I did get some pictures of those famous steps, but this was by far the best image I got there. It was so early, there were no people at all. I think that is what makes the picture.
